Throughout my time as an elected official in Tiverton and later District 70, I have been working continuously for my constituents. Helping people navigate State government and getting their issues addressed has been the greatest part of serving. During this current pandemic, there has been more need for help from resolving unemployment issues, to helping schedule appointments at the DMV, to stopping illegal evictions.
I have been fortunate to renew acquaintances & make new ones going door to door this campaign. Socially distancing at the doors and wearing masks had made it more challenging but, worthwhile to hear from my constituents.
Thank you to all the voters in District 70, Tiverton & Portsmouth for your continued support & trust in my representation for all of you whether you voted for me or not. I will work every day for each of you as I have these past 6 terms and I look forward to serving all of you in the coming term.
The last day of door to door canvassing on Halloween with my friend & colleague, Se. Walter Felag. Great reception at the doors & even better to hear that so many people have already voted!!! Thank you to all of you for getting out & voting!!!
Safe, affordable housing for all has been one of my primary focuses throughout my term. I sponsored legislation that stopped renters from being evicted during foreclosures which passed. I am currently working on getting more safe, affordable, sober housing for recently released inmates within substance abuse issues.
Sen Felag and I deliver a new US Flag to the Tiverton Senior Center. The Flag flew over the US Capital and was generously donated by Congressman David Cicciline. This year, Sen Felag & I have delivered GA grant checks to the Senior center (every year) as well as other local groups looking for one time grants for a large variety of projects and needs.
As a member of the House Finance Committee, I have been meeting & hearing from the Administration on the current status of the budget & expenditures and adjusting the FY2020 budget while working on our FY2021 budget. Making sure our most vulnerable are protected as well as insuring that Tiverton & Portsmouth are funded.
As a long time member of the Tiverton Democratic Town Committee , I am proud to have consistently enjoyed their support. This year marks the 8th time I have been endorsed by the District 70 Representaive Committee and I thank the members for their continued trust in me to represent this great district.
